The project Teachers Across Borders: Initial and continued education in foreign and additional languages was inspired by the dream of creating a collaborative network in which teachers could interact interculturally and support each other, locally and internationally. This is a pioneering project for the training of teachers of foreign and/or additional languages, as it provides opportunities for the linguistic, academic, and pedagogical improvement of the participants through intercultural dialogue between Brazilian and foreign undergraduate students and teachers during courses, events, meetings, and experiences and during the elaboration and implementation of educational projects for the teaching of languages in public schools, in Paraná and abroad.

The pilot project started in 2017 and has been expanding, seeking to impact schools and individuals. Currently, the initiative encompasses national and international public schools, teacher educators, graduated teachers and teachers to be, along with a partnership with the State University of Ponta Grossa (UEPG), The Ohio State University, the Municipal Secretary of Curitiba (SME) and the Olentangy School District (OSD – Ohio, USA).
